2014 New Old Time Chautauqua Tour in Idaho, Montana and eastern Washington

in honor of Faith Petric

This year's tour is dedicated to our late friend and dedicated Chautauquan, Faith Petric, a wonderful loving member of our troupe and an amazing folk singer. To this end we have chosen a route that takes us on a trip to wilds of Faith's land, Idaho, Montana and Eastern Washington. Beginning on July 15th and ending August 4th, 2014 the tour will travel to in chronological order to: Sandpoint, ID (including two days of pre-Chautauqua), Libby, MT., Eureka, MT, Hot Springs, MT, Orofino, ID (the town where Faith was born) and Spokane, WA.

Workshops!

Workshop subjects to stimulate your mind and tickle your fancy
Workshops cover a vast spectrum of subjects, interests, and activities including juggling; magic; clowning; hula hooping; hat tricks; slack line; acrobatics; acro-yoga; bubble blowing; puppet making; mask making; instrument making; tap dancing; soft shoe: a song swap: singing in a “Spontaneous Choir”; playing the ukulele; drumming; learning to make medicines from local plants; a personal reflection on the internment of Japanese-American citizens during the Second World War and its enduring consequences; an historical perspective of the Chautauqua movement in the US including original speeches from William Jennings Bryan and others; and more. Full workshop descriptions.
 
Local community members join NOTC to offer workshops
Local groups, and members of the host community, are also offering workshops during the afternoon as part of a commitment towards mutual enrichment and community exchange.
